Theatre Passe Muraille brings “Toronto” Season for 2009/10!

Welcome, Toronto!

Theatre Passe Muraille, translated into English is “theatre beyond walls”.

This season we are exploring the world of Toronto beyond our walls. In Toronto it is exhilarating to cross the street and enter into a new world. Our many neighbourhoods represent the span of the globe: Toronto is home to the stories of the world. Our season brings these stories into the theatre and onto our stage.

Theatre Passe Muraille can also be translated as “theatre without walls” – theatre that is open and inclusive. Not only does that describe TPM, it describes you, our audience. You can be adventurous, inquisitive and thoughtful. It is natural for you to seek out difference and novelty. You believe that theatre can be transforming when you come with an open mind and a willingness to engage in provocative ideas, even when they may not be your own. F. Scott Fitzgerald said: “The world only exists in your eyes – your conception of it. You can make it as big or as small as you want to.” This season experience Toronto through the eyes of the people living here. Re-discover our city and its remarkable people..on stage and in the seat next to you.
